Overview
Seasonal Assistant Professional

Lakewood Ranch is seeking a professional with a Class A Membership or an Apprentice close to completion of Level 2 Certification. Assistant Position is seasonal ending in May 2018. Opportunity for year-round position based on experience.

Assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional is all aspects of the golf operation as needed
Maintain a positive attitude and excel in customer service to members and guests
Assist the Merchandiser with inventory including monthly inventories and displaying of merchandise daily
Assist Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional and Tournament Coordinator in running tournaments to include Member-Guest’s, Member-Member’s, Club Championship’s, Couples Event’s and other events as needed.
Coordinate, assist and run weekly Member Golf Events including the MGA, WGA 18-Holers, WGA 9-Holers and other major events
Responsible for 18-hole and 9-Hole ladies WGA Events including tournaments and weekly events
Assist with outside events in planning, organizing and running events
Conduct individual lessons, playing lessons and group clinics
Work with Assistant Professional and help manage Junior Golf Program
Work in conjunction with the Outside Supervisor to help oversee all outside staff
Assist with golf car operation, practice facility, club storage, locker storage, and starter/ranger operation
Provide club fitting and repair to customers
Maintain USGA Handicap System for the club to include coordination with the Handicap Committee, updating handicaps and all other necessary communication to the membership.
Play golf with members and guests and maintain game to the highest level
Operate POS and Tee Time Booking programs
Develop, update and maintain “Tournament Calendar” on website, ForeTees and postings around the clubhouse
Advertise upcoming events with Email Distributions to membership
Responsible for starting and scoring administration
Supervises day-to-day operations of events
Coordinate food and beverage and set up requests with Food & Beverage Manager
Coordinate tee gifts, prizes and certificates with Merchandiser

Experience Required
Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. Email, Internet. Knowledgeable and Proficient in Golf Genius Tournament

Software
Experienced in tournament operations and Rules of Golf
Calligraphy skills a plus to enable the creation of signage, score sheets, etc.
Experienced in public relations and public speaking
Experienced in written and oral business communications
Experience teaching private lessons and clinics
Experience with player development programs with all genders, ages and skill levels
Experienced in personnel management
Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
Service and customer focused attitude
Effective interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all employees and members
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the club
Maintain a credible golf game
